Ingredients
2 1/2 lbs ground beef (80/20 fat ratio)
1 cup crushed breadcrumbs (gluten-free option available)
1 small onion, shredded
1 tsp garlic powder
1 large egg
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika
1/2 cup ketchup
2 Tbs brown sugar
1 Tbs apple cider vinegar
1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F
In large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic powder, egg, salt, pepper, cumin, paprika
Mix thoroughly using clean hands until fully incorporated
Pack mixture tightly into greased loaf pan
In small saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce
Simmer over medium heat 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened
Brush glaze evenly over top of meatloaf
Bake 80-90 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F
Remove from oven and let rest 10 minutes
Slice and serve with additional glaze
Notes
For stronger flavor, substitute garlic powder with 1/2 tsp freshly minced garlic.
Verify Worcestershire sauce is halal-certified (free from pork-derived ingredients).
Use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a gluten-free version.
