- 3 ½ cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 2–3 tbsp mixed seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in warm water with honey and let it foam.
- Mix flour and salt in a large bowl.
- Add yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Knead dough for 10 minutes until smooth.
- Cover and let rise for 1–1.5 hours.
- Shape dough into loaf and place in pan.
- Let it rise again for 30–40 minutes.
- Bake at 180°C for 30–35 minutes until golden.
- Cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
You can replace honey with maple syrup. Add seeds for extra texture. Store at room temperature for 3 days or freeze sliced bread for longer storage. Brush with olive oil after baking for a softer crust.
