Description

A lean, savory, and protein-packed meatloaf made with ground turkey, oats, and a rich glaze. This healthier comfort food is easy to prepare and perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

2 lb ground turkey (90% lean)
1 cup old-fashioned oats (gluten-free if needed)
½ cup breadcrumbs (plain or gluten-free)
½ cup finely chopped onion
2 cloves garlic
1 large egg
¼ cup ketchup
1 tbsp mustard
1 tbsp non-alcoholic Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp dried thyme

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, oats, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
Mix well until well blended.
Transfer to a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan and press into an even layer.
In a small bowl, mix ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce to create the glaze.
Spread glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Substitute chopped zucchini for onion to reduce carbs
Use a gluten-free flour-based coating if needed
Letting the meatloaf rest ensures a tighter crumb structure
