This superior lasagna recipe delivers a rich, multi-layered culinary experience featuring savory ground beef, a creamy three-cheese blend, and a robust, slow-simmered tomato sauce. By focusing on deep browning of the meat and precise layering techniques, this dish achieves professional-quality results that hold their structure perfectly. It is the ultimate comfort meal for families and gatherings, ensuring every bite is packed with complex, Italian-inspired flavor without the use of any prohibited ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

1.5 lbs 85/15 ground beef
48 oz marinara sauce
1 box lasagna noodles
15 oz whole milk ricotta cheese
3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
1 large egg
1 tbsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked.
Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, simmering for 10 minutes to thicken.
In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta, half of the parmesan, and the egg until smooth.
Spread one cup of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish.
Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce.
Spread a portion of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then top with a layer of meat sauce and mozzarella.
Repeat the layers until the dish is full, finishing with a final layer of sauce, mozzarella, and remaining parmesan.
Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 20-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

Ensure you hand-shred your mozzarella for the best melt quality. If using standard oven-ready noodles, ensure there is enough sauce to keep the moisture levels high. Let the lasagna rest for at least 15 minutes before cutting to ensure clean layers.
