Ingredients
Ground beef (80/20) 1 lb
Yellow onion 1 large (finely chopped)
Garlic 3 cloves (minced)
Tomato sauce 1 cup
Yellow mustard 3 tablespoons
Barbecue sauce 1 tablespoon (optional)
Brown sugar 1 tablespoon
Salt 1 teaspoon
Black pepper 1/2 teaspoon
Hamburger buns 6 pieces
Instructions
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and break apart with a wooden spoon; cook until browned and no longer pink.
Add finely chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until translucent and browned.
Stir in salt, pepper, mustard, barbecue sauce, and brown sugar. Cook for 2 minutes.
Pour in tomato sauce, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Adjust seasonings to taste.
Toast buns and pile meat mixture onto each for serving.
