Ingredients
6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
1 cup granulated sugar, divided
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 cup whole milk, room temperature
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F.
In a large mixing bowl, toss the sliced peaches with half of the sugar and the cinnamon until evenly coated.
Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, and baking powder.
Stir in the milk and melted butter until the batter is smooth.
Pour the batter evenly over the peaches in the baking dish.
Bake for 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
Notes
Choose firm yet ripe peaches so they maintain their texture while baking. Serve warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream or freshly whipped cream.
