Ingredients
3 lbs beef brisket, trimmed of excess fat
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1/4 cup water
Instructions
In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder to create a spice rub.
Evenly rub the spice mixture over all sides of the beef brisket.
Place the seasoned brisket into the slow cooker, fat side up.
Pour the apple cider vinegar and water carefully around the sides of the brisket to avoid rinsing off the rub.
Cover with the lid and cook on the low setting for 8 hours.
Once tender, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and use two forks to shred the meat into pieces.
Return the shredded beef to the juices in the slow cooker briefly to coat before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For extra crispiness, you can place the shredded beef on a baking sheet and broil for 3-5 minutes before serving.
