Ingredients
2 lbs fresh green beans, trimmed and snapped into two-inch pieces
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
6 oz fried onions, divided
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
0.5 tsp freshly ground black pepper
0.5 cup whole milk
Instructions
Whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper in the slow cooker insert until smooth.
Add the trimmed fresh green beans to the mixture and stir thoroughly to coat each bean.
Fold in half of the fried onions.
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, or until the beans reach your desired level of tenderness.
Stir the mixture once more before serving.
Top with the remaining reserved fried onions just before serving to maintain their crunch.
Notes
Substitute cream of mushroom with cream of celery soup for a lighter flavor profile. Use tamari instead of soy sauce if you require a gluten-free version. Ensure the beans are fully submerged in the sauce to prevent uneven cooking.
