Description
This simple guacamole recipe provides a creamy, flavorful dip that highlights the natural richness of perfectly ripe avocados. Combining fresh ingredients like white onion, lime juice, and cilantro, this Mexican staple relies on minimal processing to maintain a superior chunky texture. It is a versatile and healthy dish perfect for parties, taco nights, or an afternoon snack, ensuring the authentic taste of the fruit remains the star of the show.
Ingredients
3 large Hass avocados
1/4 cup white onion, finely diced
1/3 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
2 tablespoons lime juice, freshly squeezed
1 small jalapeño, minced
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
Slice each avocado in half lengthwise around the pit.
Twist the halves to separate them and carefully remove the pit.
Scoop the avocado flesh into a medium glass mixing bowl.
Mash the avocado lightly with a fork until the desired chunky texture is reached.
Add the diced white onion, chopped cilantro, and minced jalapeño to the bowl.
Pour the fresh lime juice over the mixture and add sea salt.
Fold the ingredients together gently until well combined but still chunky.
Taste and adjust salt if necessary before serving with tortilla chips.
Notes
Select avocados that give slightly to gentle pressure but are not mushy. Removing seeds from the jalapeño significantly reduces the heat level of the dip. Serve immediately to prevent oxidation, or cover with plastic wrap pressed directly against the surface of the guacamole to keep it green for longer.
