Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated

  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing mix (dry)

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions (optional)

  • 1 cup finely chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds) or crispy bacon crumbles for coating

  • Fresh vegetables, crackers, or bread for serving

Instructions

  • Mix the Cream Cheese and Ranch Dressing
In a medium mixing bowl, blend the softened cream cheese with the ranch dressing mix. Use a hand mixer or spoon to combine until smooth.

  • Add the Cheddar Cheese and Green Onions
Stir in the grated sharp cheddar cheese and optional green onions until everything is well incorporated.

  • Shape the Cheese Mixture into a Log
Lay a piece of plastic wrap on a flat surface. Scoop the cream cheese mixture onto it and roll it into a log shape. Wrap tightly with the plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least two hours, or preferably overnight.

  • Coat the Cheese Log
Once chilled, remove the cheese log from the wrap and roll it in the chopped nuts or bacon crumbles until fully coated.

  • Serve and Enjoy!
Serve at room temperature with your favorite crackers, fresh veggies, or bread. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Variation: If you prefer a little heat, add finely chopped jalapeños to the cheese mixture.

  • Make Ahead: This cheese log can be made a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator until serving.

  • Coating Options: For a sweeter contrast, try using dried cranberries and pistachios instead of nuts or bacon.
