Description

These quick homemade cinnamon rolls are soft, fluffy, and filled with sweet cinnamon sugar, then topped with a simple glaze. Perfect for breakfast or dessert and ready in under an hour.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 packet (7g) instant yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add warm milk, butter, and egg, then mix into a dough.
  3. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let dough rest for 10–15 minutes.
  5. Roll into a rectangle.
  6. Spread butter and sprinkle cinnamon sugar.
  7. Roll tightly and cut into pieces.
  8. Place in baking dish and rest 10 minutes.
  9. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 18–20 minutes.
  10. Mix glaze and drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

Use warm—not hot—milk for best yeast activation. Do not overbake to keep rolls soft. You can prepare rolls ahead and bake fresh in the morning.
