Description

A quintessential comfort dessert featuring a medley of tart Granny Smith and sweet Honeycrisp apples tossed in cinnamon and sugar, topped with a buttery, golden oat crumble. This timeless treat offers the perfect balance of tender fruit and crunchy texture, making it an ideal choice for family gatherings or cozy nights at home. Using high-quality ingredients ensures a consistent, mouthwatering experience every time you bake it.

Ingredients

Scale

6 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced into 1/4 inch wedges
4 large Honeycrisp apples, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1.5 cups old-fashioned oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup brown sugar, packed
3/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Peel, core, and slice the apples into uniform wedges.
In a large bowl, toss the apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon until fully coated.
Transfer the apple mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
In a separate medium bowl, combine the oats, flour, and brown sugar.
Use a pastry cutter to cut the cold butter into the dry mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apple layer in the baking dish.
Bake for 45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.

Notes

Ensure the butter is very cold when cutting into the dry mixture to achieve the best crumbly texture. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or fresh cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
