Description
Experience a sophisticated twist on the classic American dessert with this maple pecan pie. By replacing traditional corn syrup with pure, high-quality maple syrup, this recipe achieves a deep, earthy sweetness that perfectly complements the crunchy, toasted pecans. The flaky, buttery crust encases a rich custard that sets beautifully every time, making this an elegant centerpiece for holiday gatherings or seasonal celebrations that everyone will adore.
Ingredients
1 double crust pie dough
2 cups pecans, roughly chopped and toasted
1.5 cups pure Grade A dark maple syrup
0.5 cup light or dark brown sugar, packed
3 large eggs, room temperature
4 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
0.5 teaspoon fine sea salt
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Roll out your pie crust and fit it into a standard 9-inch pie dish, trimming and crimping the edges as desired.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs until uniform.
Add the maple syrup, melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt to the eggs.
Stir the mixture thoroughly until the brown sugar is completely dissolved.
Fold the toasted pecans into the custard mixture until evenly coated.
Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
Bake for 50 minutes until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
Remove from the oven and cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
Ensure the pecans are toasted to enhance their flavor profile. For best results, use Grade A dark maple syrup for a richer depth of flavor. Allow the pie to cool fully to ensure the filling sets correctly for clean slicing.
