Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (85% lean, 15% fat)
2 tbsp breadcrumbs
1 large egg (or 2 tbsp soy yogurt)
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt to taste
Chilled burger buns
Fresh lettuce
Ripe tomatoes
Caramelized onions
Plates (optional: 2 tbsp bread flour for gluten-free)

Instructions
Combine beef, breadcrumbs, egg, black pepper, garlic powder, and salt in a bowl until just blended
Shape into 4 ounce patties with thumb indentations
Sprinkle additional salt on both sides
Refrigerate patties for 15 minutes
Preheat cast iron skillet to 375°F
Cook patties 3-4 minutes per side
Rest patties 5 minutes before serving
