Description
This ham and cheese quiche is rich, creamy, and full of comforting flavor. I combine eggs, milk, savory ham, and melted cheese in a flaky crust to create a perfect dish for breakfast, brunch, or a light dinner. It is simple, satisfying, and always a family favorite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pie crust (9-inch)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup cooked ham, diced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Gruyère)
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Place pie crust in a baking dish and set aside.
- In a pan, melt butter and sauté onion until soft.
- In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and cream.
- Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Spread ham, cheese, and onion evenly in the crust.
- Pour egg mixture over filling.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until set and golden.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
You can replace ham with turkey or vegetables. Let the quiche rest 10 minutes before slicing for clean cuts. Store in the fridge up to 3 days and reheat gently in the oven.
