Description

These ground chicken lettuce wraps are a light, protein-packed meal featuring savory chicken stir-fried with aromatic ginger, garlic, and fresh scallions. Perfectly balanced with a tangy soy-vinegar glaze, this low-carb dish provides a satisfying crunch and bold umami flavors, making it an ideal healthy dinner choice for anyone looking for a quick, restaurant-quality meal at home.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground chicken
1 head butter lettuce
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil
3 stalks scallions, thinly sliced
1 tbsp vegetable oil for cooking

Instructions

Wash the lettuce heads carefully to ensure the leaves remain intact for wrapping.
Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat with a drizzle of oil.
Add the ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon until browned and cooked through.
Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for thirty seconds until fragrant.
Whisk the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a small bowl.
Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, stirring constantly to coat evenly.
Simmer the mixture for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
Remove from heat, fold in the sliced scallions, and serve by spooning the chicken mixture into the lettuce leaves.

Notes

Use tamari instead of soy sauce to make this recipe gluten-free. For extra crunch, you can add diced water chestnuts or toasted peanuts to the chicken mixture. Store leftover filling in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
