Description
Gougères with Herbs are light and airy French cheese puffs made with choux pastry, Gruyère, Parmesan, and fresh herbs. Perfect as an elegant appetizer or brunch addition.
Ingredients

- 1 cup water
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Bring water and butter to a boil.
- Add flour and stir until dough forms and pulls from sides.
- Cool slightly and add eggs one at a time.
- Mix in cheese and herbs.
- Spoon dough onto lined baking tray.
- Bake 20–25 minutes until golden and puffed.
Notes
Use freshly grated cheese for best flavor. Do not open the oven early to prevent collapsing. Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat before serving.
