Description
These Gluten-Free Gougères are light, airy cheese puffs made with gluten-free flour, eggs, butter, and Gruyère cheese. Crisp on the outside and soft inside, they are perfect as a savory appetizer or elegant brunch addition.
Ingredients

- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour blend
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Bring water, milk, butter, and salt to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in gluten-free flour.
- Return to heat and stir 1–2 minutes to dry dough.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
- Fold in grated cheese and seasoning.
- Pipe small rounds onto baking sheet.
- Bake 20–25 minutes until puffed and golden.
Notes
Use a gluten-free flour blend with xanthan gum for best texture. Do not open the oven during baking. Serve warm for best flavor. Freeze baked gougères for up to 1 month.
