Description

Warm, buttery garlic bread baked until golden and crisp on the edges. This easy homemade recipe combines fresh garlic, herbs, and soft bread for the ultimate comfort side dish perfect with pasta, soups, or enjoyed on its own.


Ingredients

  • 1 large baguette or Italian bread loaf
  • 120 g unsalted butter (softened)
  • 56 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • 50 g mozzarella or parmesan (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Slice bread in half lengthwise.
  3. Mix butter, garlic, parsley, olive oil, salt, pepper, and oregano.
  4. Spread mixture evenly on bread.
  5. Add cheese if desired.
  6. Bake for 10–15 minutes until golden.
  7. Broil for 1–2 minutes for crispiness.
  8. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

Use fresh garlic for best flavor. You can prepare ahead and bake later. For softer texture reduce baking time. Add extra olive oil after baking for richness.
