Description

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 ¼ cups warm milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Activate yeast in warm milk and sugar until foamy.
  2. Mix flour and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add yeast mixture, butter, olive oil, and egg.
  4. Knead until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let dough rise for 1 hour.
  6. Shape into loaf and place in pan.
  7. Let rise again for 30–40 minutes.
  8. Bake at 180°C for 30–35 minutes.
  9. Brush with butter and cool before slicing.

Notes

For softer Easy Sandwich Bread, brush with butter after baking. You can replace milk with plant-based milk. Add a teaspoon of honey for a slightly sweeter loaf. Store in airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze slices for longer storage.
