Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsalted butter, divided
1 cup brown sugar, divided
2 cups pecans, roughly chopped
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Combine the flour, half the butter, and 1/4 cup of the sugar in a bowl.
Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the pan.
Bake the crust base for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
In a saucepan over low heat, whisk the remaining butter, remaining sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla until melted and dissolved.
Fold in the chopped pecans until coated.
Pour the pecan mixture over the partially baked crust.
Bake for an additional 20 minutes until the center bubbles slightly.
Notes
Ensure the butter for the crust is cold and cubed for the best crumbly texture. Use high-quality butter for a richer flavor. Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting to ensure clean lines and perfect presentation.
