The result is a perfect balance of melty mozzarella, tender pasta, and rich meat sauce that is guaranteed to impress at any dinner table.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (85/15 ratio)
24 oz marinara sauce
9 lasagna noodles (oven-ready or pre-boiled)
15 oz ricotta cheese
3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
0.5 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
1 large egg
1 tbsp dried herbs (oregano and basil mix)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until no pink remains.
Drain excess fat from the skillet.
Stir in the marinara sauce and dried herbs, simmering for five minutes.
Combine ricotta, egg, and half of the parmesan in a bowl.
Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Layer three lasagna noodles over the sauce.
Spread a portion of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
Top with a layer of meat sauce and a sprinkle of mozzarella.
Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a final layer of cheese.
Bake for approximately 50 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Notes
Ensure the ricotta is full-fat for the best texture. If using oven-ready noodles, ensure there is enough sauce to fully hydrate the pasta during the bake. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
