This easy asparagus quiche recipe is creamy, comforting, and perfect for brunch, lunch, or a light dinner. Fresh asparagus, eggs, cheese, and cream bake together in a buttery pie crust to create a rich and flavorful dish that feels elegant but requires very little effort.

- 1 pie crust (9-inch)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 bunch asparagus (about 200 g / 7 oz), trimmed and cut
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère or cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and press gently.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and cook for 3 minutes.
- Add asparagus and cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly tender.
- In a large bowl whisk eggs, heavy cream, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and nutmeg.
- Spread the cooked vegetables evenly inside the crust.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the vegetables.
- Pour the egg mixture over the filling.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until the center is set and the top is golden.
- Let the quiche rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Use Gruyère cheese for the best flavor and creamy texture. You can substitute asparagus with spinach or mushrooms if desired. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat gently in the oven.
