Description
Enjoy a restaurant-style crunch with these flavorful baked ground beef tacos. A healthier twist on classic Mexican fare without deep frying, they make a perfect family meal and are easy to customize with your favorite toppings.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1 tbsp taco seasoning
8 corn tortillas
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 cup diced tomatoes
1 ripe avocado
1 lime
1/2 cup diced onion
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned, about 8–10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
Stir in taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water. Simmer for 2 minutes to blend flavors.
Spread seasoned beef evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, uncovered, until golden and slightly crispy.
Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until pliable.
Assemble tacos by adding a portion of the baked beef to each tortilla.
Top with lettuce, diced tomatoes, avocado slices, diced onion, and cilantro. Squeeze lime juice over the tacos before serving.
Notes
Use lean ground beef for less grease; substitute with ground turkey for a lighter version.
Greek yogurt can be used instead of avocado for a dairy-free option.
Warm tortillas before assembling for a soft base.
Use homemade taco seasoning for better control over flavor and ingredients.
