- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 3/4 cups warm water
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil (plus extra for drizzling)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
- Flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until foamy.
- Mix flour and salt in a large bowl.
- Add yeast mixture and olive oil to flour and mix into sticky dough.
- Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl and let rise 1–2 hours until doubled.
- Stretch dough into an oiled baking pan and let rise again 30–45 minutes.
- Dimple dough deeply, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle rosemary and flaky salt.
- Bake at 220°C (425°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Use high-quality olive oil for best flavor. Allow full rising time for airy texture. Store at room temperature up to 2 days or freeze slices for longer storage.
