Description

This Best Strawberry Spinach Salad is a fresh and vibrant dish made with sweet strawberries, tender baby spinach, creamy feta cheese, crunchy walnuts, and a simple homemade balsamic honey dressing. Perfect for spring and summer meals, this colorful salad is quick to prepare and pairs beautifully with grilled chicken, fish, or light pasta dishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups fresh baby spinach
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/3 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 avocado, sliced (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the baby spinach and place it in a large salad bowl.
  2. Slice the strawberries and add them over the spinach.
  3. Thinly slice the red onion and sprinkle it into the salad.
  4. Add the chopped walnuts or pecans for crunch.
  5. Sprinkle crumbled feta cheese evenly over the salad.
  6. In a small bowl whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
  7. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine.
  8. Add sliced avocado on top if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, toast the walnuts or pecans in a dry skillet for 2–3 minutes before adding them to the salad. If red onion tastes too strong, soak slices in cold water for 5 minutes before adding. Store dressing separately if preparing the salad ahead to keep spinach fresh and crisp.
