Description
This quick and juicy BBQ chicken breast recipe delivers succulent results with a caramelized exterior. By using boneless chicken breasts seasoned with a savory rub and glazed with your favorite molasses-based barbecue sauce, you achieve a professional-quality meal perfect for any weeknight dinner or casual gathering.
Ingredients
4 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup thick, molasses-based barbecue sauce (alcohol-free)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
Pound chicken breasts between parchment paper to a uniform 1-inch thickness.
Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
Whisk olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and salt together in a small bowl.
Coat the chicken evenly with the rub on all sides.
Preheat grill or indoor grill pan to medium-high heat.
Place chicken on the hot grate and cook undisturbed for 5 minutes to develop char marks.
Flip the chicken and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes.
Brush the barbecue sauce generously over the cooked side of the chicken.
Cook for another 2-3 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F and the sauce is caramelized.
Notes
Ensure your barbecue sauce is free from alcohol or meat-based additives. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken is cooked through without drying it out. If the sauce begins to char too quickly, reduce heat to medium-low during the final glazing phase.
