Ingredients
4 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
4 cups Bosc pears, peeled and cubed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp ground cinnamon, divided
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Combine peeled apple slices and pear cubes in a large mixing bowl.
Toss fruit with granulated sugar, lemon juice, and half of the cinnamon.
Transfer fruit mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
In a separate bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, and remaining cinnamon.
Cut cold butter into the dry mixture until crumbly and pea-sized.
Spread the crumble topping evenly over the fruit in the baking dish.
Bake for 45 minutes until the fruit filling bubbles at the edges and topping is golden brown.
Cool for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow juices to thicken.
Notes
Use a pastry cutter for the best consistency of the crumble. If you prefer a nuttier flavor, swap half of the flour for almond flour. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream for extra richness.
