- 500 g (1 lb) ground beef
- 250 g (1/2 lb) ground pork
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 800 g crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 3 cups warm milk
- 1 cup grated Parmesan
- 12 lasagna sheets
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic.
- Add beef and pork, cook until browned.
- Add tomatoes, paste, and seasonings. Simmer 30–40 minutes.
- Melt butter, whisk in flour, add warm milk to make béchamel.
- Layer meat sauce, pasta sheets, béchamel, and cheese.
- Repeat layers and finish with cheese on top.
- Bake covered at 180°C for 30 minutes.
- Bake uncovered 15–20 minutes until golden.
- Rest 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Simmer sauce slowly for best flavor. Allow lasagna to rest before slicing. Store in refrigerator up to 4 days or freeze before baking for up to 2 months.
