Description

These Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies are rich, buttery, and filled with melted chocolate in every bite. With crisp edges and a soft chewy center, this easy homemade cookie recipe is perfect for dessert, snacks, or sharing with friends and family.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.
  7. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough for each cookie and place on the baking tray.
  8. Leave space between cookies to allow spreading.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges turn lightly golden.
  10. Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 20–30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Cookie dough can be frozen and baked later for fresh cookies anytime.
