- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.
- Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough for each cookie and place on the baking tray.
- Leave space between cookies to allow spreading.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges turn lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack.
Notes
For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 20–30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Cookie dough can be frozen and baked later for fresh cookies anytime.
