- 2 tablespoons olive oil

- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash and trim the asparagus ends.
- Place asparagus on a baking sheet.
- Drizzle olive oil and sprinkle salt and pepper.
- Toss to coat evenly.
- Arrange asparagus in a single layer.
- Roast for 10–12 minutes.
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
- Return to oven for 2–3 minutes until cheese melts.
- Finish with lemon zest and lemon juice if desired and serve warm.
Notes
Use fresh asparagus with firm stalks. Do not overcrowd the pan so the asparagus roasts evenly. Freshly grated Parmesan gives the best flavor.
