Description

This homemade baked mac and cheese is rich, creamy, and topped with a golden crispy layer. Made with real cheese and simple ingredients, it’s the ultimate comfort food for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 300g elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni until al dente and drain.
  2. Melt butter in a pan and stir in flour.
  3. Gradually add milk while stirring until thickened.
  4. Add cheese, salt, pepper, and paprika and mix until smooth.
  5. Combine pasta with cheese sauce.
  6. Transfer to a greased baking dish.
  7. Mix breadcrumbs with olive oil and sprinkle on top.
  8. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden.

Notes

Use freshly grated cheese for best melting. Add a splash of milk when reheating to keep it creamy. You can prepare ahead and bake when ready.
