Ingredients

  • 200 g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • 150 g unsalted butter
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 100 g all-purpose flour
  • 30 g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 120 ml whole milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F) and prepare an 8-inch cake pan.
  2. Melt dark chocolate and butter together until smooth.
  3. Whisk sugar and eggs until slightly pale and creamy.
  4. Add vanilla extract and melted chocolate mixture.
  5. Sift flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder, then gently fold into batter.
  6. Stir in milk until smooth and silky.
  7. Pour batter into pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes until edges are set but center remains slightly soft.
  9. Cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

Do not overbake to maintain the fudgy texture. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Warm slices for 10–15 seconds before serving for a gooey center. You can substitute dark chocolate with semi-sweet chocolate if preferred.
