Ingredients
- 200 g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
- 150 g unsalted butter
- 200 g granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 100 g all-purpose flour
- 30 g unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 120 ml whole milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F) and prepare an 8-inch cake pan.
- Melt dark chocolate and butter together until smooth.
- Whisk sugar and eggs until slightly pale and creamy.
- Add vanilla extract and melted chocolate mixture.
- Sift flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder, then gently fold into batter.
- Stir in milk until smooth and silky.
- Pour batter into pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until edges are set but center remains slightly soft.
- Cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
Do not overbake to maintain the fudgy texture. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Warm slices for 10–15 seconds before serving for a gooey center. You can substitute dark chocolate with semi-sweet chocolate if preferred.
