Description

These From Scratch Cinnamon Rolls are soft, fluffy, and filled with a rich cinnamon sugar swirl, then topped with a sweet vanilla glaze. Perfect for breakfast or dessert, they bring comforting homemade bakery flavor right to your kitchen.


Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until foamy.
  2. Add butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually mix in flour.
  3. Knead dough until smooth and soft.
  4. Let dough rise until doubled in size.
  5. Roll into a rectangle and spread butter.
  6. Sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar evenly.
  7. Roll into a log and slice into rolls.
  8. Place in baking dish and let rise again.
  9. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes.
  10. Mix glaze and drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

Use warm—not hot—milk to activate yeast. Let dough rise fully for soft texture. You can prepare rolls the night before and bake fresh in the morning. Add cream cheese to glaze for a richer topping.
