- 8 thick slices brioche or challah bread
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons butter for cooking
Instructions
- Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a wide bowl.
- Dip each bread slice into the mixture and soak 20–30 seconds per side.
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook soaked bread 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Serve warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit.
Notes
Use slightly stale bread for best results. Cook on medium heat to avoid burning. Store leftovers in refrigerator up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
