Description

This creamy baked mac and cheese is rich, cheesy, and perfectly comforting. Made with a blend of cheeses and baked until golden, it’s the ultimate family favorite.


Ingredients

  • 400g macaroni pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni until al dente.
  2. Drain and set aside.
  3. Melt butter in a saucepan.
  4. Add flour and stir to form roux.
  5. Slowly whisk in milk and cream.
  6. Cook until thickened.
  7. Add cheeses and stir until melted.
  8. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and mustard.
  9. Mix pasta with cheese sauce.
  10. Transfer to baking dish.
  11. Top with extra cheese.
  12. Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes.

Notes

Use a mix of cheeses for depth of flavor. Add a splash of milk when reheating to keep it creamy. You can prepare ahead and bake later.
