Description

These classic cinnamon rolls are soft, fluffy, and filled with a rich cinnamon sugar filling, then topped with a sweet vanilla glaze. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy homemade dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup softened butter (for filling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix warm milk with yeast and let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt.
  3. Gradually add flour and knead into a soft dough.
  4. Let dough rise for 1 hour.
  5. Roll dough into a rectangle.
  6. Spread butter and sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture.
  7. Roll tightly and cut into rolls.
  8. Place in baking dish and let rise 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes.
  10. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls and serve.

Notes

Make sure milk is warm, not hot, to activate yeast properly. You can prepare the rolls the night before and bake in the morning. Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat gently before serving.
