- 30 g unsalted butter, melted (plus extra for greasing)

- Spread the pitted cherries evenly across the bottom of the prepared dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until light and slightly frothy.

- Pour in the milk and heavy cream, whisking until combined.
- Sift in the flour and whisk until the batter becomes smooth and lump-free.
- Stir in the melted butter and mix well.
- Let the batter rest for 10 minutes to improve texture.
- Carefully pour the batter over the cherries in the baking dish.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until the top turns golden and the center is just set with a slight jiggle.
- Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
- Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Use ripe, sweet cherries for the best flavor. You can substitute raspberries, blackberries, or sliced apricots if desired. For a deeper vanilla flavor, use a whole vanilla bean. Serve slightly warm for the best custardy texture. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat gently before serving.
