Description

This cheesy baked mac and cheese is creamy, rich, and perfectly comforting. Made with tender macaroni, a smooth homemade cheese sauce, and a golden baked topping, this dish is perfect for family dinners, holidays, or cozy evenings at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 250g macaroni
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni in salted water until al dente and drain.
  2. Melt butter in a pan and stir in flour to form a roux.
  3. Slowly whisk in milk until smooth and thickened.
  4. Add salt, pepper, and paprika.
  5. Stir in cheese until fully melted.
  6. Mix pasta with cheese sauce.
  7. Transfer to baking dish and top with extra cheese.
  8. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden.

Notes

Use freshly grated cheese for best melting results. Add breadcrumbs for a crispy topping. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat with a splash of milk to keep it creamy.
