For the Brownie Layer:

  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

For the Cheesecake Layer:

  • 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven – Set your oven to 325°F (163°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Make the Brownie Batter – In a mixing bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, and mix well.
  • Add Dry Ingredients – Sift in flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined.
  • Prepare the Cheesecake Layer – In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  • Layer and Swirl – Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, reserving a few tablespoons. Spread the cheesecake mixture on top, then swirl in the remaining brownie batter with a knife.
  • Bake – Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cheesecake is set.
  • Cool and Serve – Let cool completely before slicing. Refrigerate for best results.
