Description

This Brioche French Toast recipe creates thick, fluffy slices with a rich custard center and golden buttery edges. Made with eggs, milk, cream, cinnamon, and vanilla, it’s the perfect brunch or weekend breakfast treat. Serve warm with maple syrup, fresh berries, and powdered sugar for a comforting homemade meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 thick slices brioche bread
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup (180ml) whole milk
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter for cooking

Instructions

  1. Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a wide bowl.
  2. Dip each brioche slice into the custard mixture, soaking 20–30 seconds per side.
  3. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook soaked brioche slices for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Transfer to a plate and repeat with remaining slices.
  6. Serve warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh berries.

Notes

Use slightly stale brioche for best texture. Avoid high heat to prevent burning. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 1 month. Reheat in oven or skillet for best results.
