Description

These homemade chocolate chip cookies are soft, chewy, and packed with rich chocolate flavor. With buttery dough, crisp golden edges, and gooey centers, this classic cookie recipe is perfect for family baking, dessert trays, or late-night sweet cravings.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time while mixing.
  5. Add vanilla extract and combine well.
  6. Slowly add the flour mixture to form cookie dough.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts.
  8. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the baking tray.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  10. Allow cookies to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Cookie dough can also be frozen for later baking.
