Description

These bakery style cinnamon rolls are soft, fluffy, and filled with a rich cinnamon sugar swirl. Topped with a smooth cream cheese frosting, they are the perfect homemade treat for cozy mornings or special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until foamy.
  2. Add butter, egg, salt, and flour. Knead until soft.
  3. Let dough rise until doubled.
  4. Roll dough into rectangle.
  5. Spread butter, then cinnamon and sugar.
  6. Roll tightly and slice.
  7. Place in baking dish and let rise again.
  8. Bake at 180°C for 20–25 minutes.
  9. Mix frosting ingredients.
  10. Spread frosting over warm rolls and serve.

Notes

Ensure milk is warm, not hot, to activate yeast properly. Let dough rise fully for best texture. You can prepare rolls ahead and refrigerate overnight before baking.
